Hi. It’s been a while. I’m sorry about that. But I have something to talk to you about.

I woke up Sunday morning to a message from a new acquaintance. I respect this person. We orbit around each other’s professional circles in Paris. I’ve known the guy four months. His vibe is measured—neither alarmist nor NPC—so I pay attention to what he’s intuiting. The tone of his message was a mix of optimism + worry :

« I don’t like TikTok, but a friend shared this woman’s perspective who talks about Ai and the future of jobs. What problems around us seem hard, expensive, or impossible?

So, au lit, I typed out a treatise in thumbs (edited for clarity)…

I think she’s misguided in thinking a.i. might weave together with human labor somehow for meaningful value creation. Maybe it physically / scientifically could, but the only financial outcome that justifies the capex is…
